LP ONE / LeafCore
Meet
LeafCore.
A composite panel pressed from pineapple leaf fibre, the part of the plant that's usually left in the field.
Scroll / From cell wall to room
Scroll to pull back from inside a single fibre to a finished interior, across about 600,000× of scale.
01 / What it is
Leaf residue in.
Panel out.
Pineapple plants grow long, fibrous leaves. After harvest, most of that fibre has no use.
LeafCore takes that leaf, processes it into fibre and presses it into a composite panel. The result has a warm, flecked surface that reads clearly as a natural material, with a supply chain that starts on Queensland farms.
We work from the material up: studying the fibre, making physical samples and testing them against what designers and makers actually need. Every sample teaches us something about the next one.
02 / Leaf to panel
Four stages.
One fibre.
The path from a pineapple field to a finished board, as we're developing it now.

Pineapple is grown commercially across Queensland, and every harvest leaves the leaf behind.

Leaf is gathered in produce bins with growers, so the feedstock has a known origin.

The leaf is broken down into fibre. Its structure and variation shape the panel.

Fibre is formed and pressed into a composite panel. This is where the prototypes come from.
03 / Development status
What we can
say today.
No made-up numbers. Here's where LeafCore stands right now. We'll update this as testing produces verified results.
| Topic | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Feedstock | Established | Pineapple leaf from Queensland growers, collected after harvest. |
| Physical samples | Available | Prototype panels exist. Ask us about sample availability for your project. |
| Panel formats & thickness | In development | Being refined alongside processing and early project needs. |
| Mechanical & moisture performance | Pending testing | No verified figures published yet. We'll share results as they're confirmed. |
| Fire & compliance | Not yet assessed | Compliance depends on the application and needs to be assessed for each use. |
| Finishes & machining | In development | We're keen to trial edge, fixing and coating detail with makers. |
| Commercial supply | Pre-production | Working toward larger-scale manufacturing runs. Pilot projects are welcome. |
04 / Early projects
Be one of the
first to use it.
We're looking for a small number of early projects to develop LeafCore with.
That might be a feature wall, a run of joinery, a furniture piece or a product. You get a material nobody else is using, direct access to the people making it and a say in where it goes. We get real requirements to build toward.
05 / Before you specify
Common
questions.
Can I specify or order LeafCore now?
LeafCore is still in development, so it isn't a stock product you can order off a price list. If you have a project in mind, talk to us early. We'll tell you what's possible within your timeline and whether a pilot makes sense.
Can I get a sample?
Yes. Tell us a bit about your project or practice and we'll arrange what's available. Samples are prototypes and may differ from future production panels.
What technical information is available?
Testing is underway and we only publish verified figures. Tell us what your application needs (fire, moisture, wear, structural) and we'll share what we have and what's still to come.
Is it suitable for my application?
It depends on the use. Finish, cleaning, wear, fire and installation requirements all need to be assessed for each application. The application imagery on this site shows design concepts, not tested or completed installations.
What should I include in an enquiry?
Project type, location and stage; the surfaces you're thinking about and rough quantities; finish ideas or technical requirements; and your timing. Our enquiry form walks you through it in about two minutes.

The fastest way to judge LeafCore is to hold it. Tell us about your project and we'll take it from there.
